Brilliant Results for Squaddies at British Championships

Congratulations to all of you who competed at the Britsh Championships near Midhurst on 1st April 2006. The squad now has two current British Champions - well done to Anne [W18L] and Alice [W18S]!!

Great results also from all the other SCOA squaddies: Kitty [4th, W18L], Susan [6th, W14A], Peter [8th, M14A], Tamsin [8th, W12A], Alex [15th, M14A], Alastair [16th, M14A], Martin [20th, M12A], Charlotte [21st, W16A] and Mike [36th, M16A]. Saturday, 11th March 2006 - SCJS training at Rushall Woods

Dear All

Our next training session is a little over a week away, at Rushall Woods, near Bradfield - grid reference SU576735 .
Directions: From M4 Junction 12 (Theale) take the A4 westwards towards Newbury for about a mile. Turn north onto the A340 towards Pangbourne. Take the first left after several hundred yards onto a minor road towards Bradfield. At the crossroads in Bradfield village continue across the crossroads and then take the first left on another minor road. After half a mile or so, take the first right onto another minor road (probably signposted Yattendon, but I can't remember just now). The car park for the event will be in a large field on the right about 500 metres down this minor road. There will probably be orienteering signs down the minor roads. If you cross the M4 on the minor roads, you have gone too far.

Squad Training Weekend - 3/4 December

As you know, we have a squad training weekend on 3rd/4th December.

As some of you may have also realised, the BKO Juniors, including all those in the squad, have qualified for the final of the Yvette Baker Trophy which is on the Sunday of the same weekend. So that we can make sure that both of these events happen, Dave and myself have arranged that the squad weekend will no longer be in the New Forest, but we will, instead be training in the East Midlands on the Saturday, stay overnight locally and take part in the Yvette Baker Trophy and District Event run by Nottingham OC on the Sunday.

November Training - 12th November

November training will take place on Saturday 12th November at Mytchett. Please meet at the usual time [1015 to 1030 hrs]. Training will finish around 1500 hrs.

The grid reference of the car park is SU918558. This is a layby on a road just off the B3012 east of Mytchett. Please ask me if you're not sure where it is.
